25 years of microsensors - key technologies for industry, health care and the environment

On June 28th, 2018, the CiS Forschungsinstitut für Mikrosensorik GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary. Together with 100 guests from research, politics and business, the celebration was opened with a ceremony and completed with a large summerly family celebration for the employees at the Erfurt egapark.
 
Numerous guests from politics, science and industry took part in the ceremony. Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow addressed a greeting word to the audience. The keynote speeches on current trends in microsensor technology and special silicon technologies for radiation detectors were presented by Prof. Roland Werthschützky, head of measuring and sensor technology at the Institute of Electromechanical Constructions at the Technical University Darmstadt and Prof. Dr. med. Paolo Giubellino, scientific director of the particle accelerator centers Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research in Europe GmbH (FAIR GmbH) and GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research GmbH. The internationally recognized experts also talked about solutions with silicon-based sensors for the future fields of Industry 4.0, Health Care, Sustainable Energy Supply and Mobility.
 
Finally, Dr. Cornelia Haase-Lerch, deputy managing director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the management with a certificate of honor for the 25th anniversary.
