In 2014, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the State of Baden-Wurttemberg commissioned Hahn-Schickard to investigate the real-life potential of Industry 4.0 with a special focus on microproduction.

The basis of the study was a survey conducted with several well-known enterprises from various lines of industry from all over Baden-Wurttemberg. In order to gain a wide range of perspective on the topics people from different departments within the companies have been interviewed.

These findings have been published in a 35-page brochure ‚Digitale Produktion zum Anfassen’ (available in German only) that show twelve concrete use cases to demonstrate that Industry 4.0 works in real life. Small and medium size companies will find inspiration for their production of the future and remain competitive.
