Smart lasers for intelligent production

This year's LaserForum will take place at  the headquarters of TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH in Ditzingen on October 15, 2019. The focus topic is "smart lasers for intelligent production".

The annual expert meeting LaserForum focuses on innovative production methods, in which lasers have become indispensable: On the one hand, it is about the use of laser systems for the digitalization of production, but also about the latest developments with regard to more efficient laser systems.

The presentations will deal with topics such as 3D printing on the moon, laser structuring in liquids or printed electronics.

They will be divided into three sessions:
  1. Technologies for Smart Lasers
  2. Intelligent Laser Production Systems
  3. Laser Applications in the Field of Microtechnology and Microelectronics

You should participate in this event if you are ...

  • manufacturer of optical or electronic components or laser systems,
  • user of laser systems for production or measuring processes,
  • manufacturer or user of material processing systems and want to inform yourself about the advantages of laser systems or
  • interested in decentralized, individualized, automated production.

During the event there will be the opportunity to visit laser production at TRUMPF.

The lectures and discussions during the event will show how lasers can be an optimal tool for the introduction of industry 4.0 concepts in production.

Laser processes are ideally suited for digitalized and individualized production. They are often simpler and faster than conventional, mechanical manufacturing processes and, especially for very individual products, better than e.g. parallel etching processes or molding processes that have been developed for a large number of identical products.

"Smart" laser processes are particularly interesting for medium-sized companies.

Software systems can easily determine the corresponding laser processes from a drawing of the end product and control the machine. The event is therefore intended to show potential to users in the field of material processing but also the latest possibilities and advantages over conventional systems to manufacturers of laser production systems.

Partners of the event are the Laser Zentrum Hannover, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT and the Chair for Laser Application Technology (LAT) of the Ruhr-University Bochum.
